About Me

My name is Shane Eckenrode and I graduated from Penn State’s College of Information Sciences & Technology (IST) in May 2016. I received a B.S. in IST Systems Design & Development.

 

I’ve always been interested in learning about software development and web design, but I also have interests in application development and video game design. I completed an internship with Penn State’s Chemistry Department in which I developed 2 JavaScript applications for a class eBook. I have experience in several programming languages including HTML, CSS + Bootstrap, JavaScript + jQuery, PHP, SQL, and Java.

Technical Skills & Experience

Intermediate level Javascript skills including JQuery, animations, and various JQuery packages.

Basic level PHP skills including database usage through My SQL.

Intermediate HTML skills including newer HTML5 canvas development.

Intermediate CSS skills including newer CSS3 techniques and Bootstrap styling experience.

Intermediate Java skills including MVC development, Object-oriented Programming and multiple courses with project experiences.

Web Development

I am an avid web developer with project experience in creating web applications. I also have experience in creating and maintaining websites, along with some database skills.

Class Game Development

I have created numerous games throughout my courses at Penn State using a variety of languages including Java, JavaScript, C# and some ActionScript.

Collaborative Coding Skills

I have extensive collaboration skills for larger, group development projects. These skills include experience with version control systems such as Git and Github.
